The North Atlantic Alliance is completing the largest reform of NATO strategy since the Cold War, which includes a realignment of forces and methods of response. The Spanish newspaper writes about it paisciting sources.
“NATO is accelerating its work to formulate a strategy that will respond to a new geopolitical reality,” the article states.
According to the newspaper, the alliance completes the overall strategy reform against terrorism and the alleged threat from the Russian Federation. It is noted that this will be the first combined strategy in the last 30 years.
The publication claims that NATO is currently developing a nearly 4,000-page document that provides for “changes in certain military methods.” Pais notes that the focus will shift from large interventions to the deployment of small battalions and the dispatch of regional experts.
According to the publication, the new plan must be approved at the summit in Vilnius in July 2023.
Earlier, the head of the NATO military committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, stated that the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance should prepare conflict all the time.
