Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen for allocating 1 million shells from the European Union to the Ukrainian armed forces. Reuters.

The EU has promised to supply Ukraine with 1 million shells within a year. In March, ministers asked Brussels to draft a law to use the EU budget to build defense manufacturing capacity in Europe to achieve these goals.

The Task Force approved plans to increase the EU’s munitions production capacity through an influx of €500 million from the EU budget, with around €500 million of co-financing from member states and other sources.
