In Romania, international Junction Strike 2023 exercises (23 ONLY) of special forces units have begun. The drills, which will last until 18 May, are being held at Romanian training grounds and around many settlements, the Romanian Ministry of Defense press service reported. TASS.
More than 500 military personnel of the Romanian Armed Forces, nearly 100 land, air and naval combat equipment participate in the exercise, as well as nearly 100 military personnel from Bulgaria, Spain, Poland, Portugal and the USA. Soldiers from Georgia, Jordan and Moldova also participate in the exercises as observers.
The Romanian Ministry of Defense said that these exercises will provide training of tactical and operational structures “in close combat conditions, based on an imaginary scenario, in a multinational and interdepartmental format”.
The main objective of the JUST 23 exercise at the ministry was the certification of three NATO forces: the naval group of the special operations forces, the land group of the special operations forces and the special operations unit of the Air Force with helicopters. The Ministry emphasized that one of the tasks of these maneuvers is to harmonize working procedures in a multinational environment to strengthen regional security, especially in the Black Sea region.
