Sociologists from Guangzhou University in China found that skilled workers with high family motivation, who are resistant to stress, work harder than others. Study published magazine Personality and Individual Differences.
Scientists used the theory of conservation of resources as the basis of their work. He argues that people use a variety of resources, such as time, cognitive attention, and physical energy, to complete work tasks, but they need to replenish these resources during breaks to avoid stress.
Nearly 1,300 Chinese employees participated in the scientists’ work, all of whom completed a survey to gather demographic information and assess individual resilience, overqualification, and family motivation.
“We investigated the relationship between individual resilience and work effort, as well as the deterrent roles of the two variables – extreme skills and family motivation. The results of the two-wave sample showed that individual resilience was positively associated with effort at work doubled by extreme skill and family motivation. Not only can employees be more diligent in their work, but they can also maintain high work efficiency for longer.”
