In St. Petersburg, telephone scammers forced a retiree to sell his apartment and transfer all his income and savings to them, informs City Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the official Telegram channel.

According to the news of the agency, on May 5, 2023 at 17:05, a 68-year-old retired policeman applied to the police. He said that from April 7, 2023 to May 3, 2023, he was contacted numerous times by unidentified persons and persuaded him to sell the flat on Rizhsky Prospekt. Under the pretext of saving money, the attackers tricked the Petersburger into transferring revenues and personal savings to the specified accounts.

The amount of damage amounted to 6 million 882 thousand rubles.
