In Ecuador, the Russian Embassy, ​​together with the Russians living in the country, planted a garden “In the Middle of the World” in memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War – a large park established on the proposed line, connecting the southern and northern hemispheres of the world, reports DEA News.

“Today we held the “Memory Garden” action in the “Middle of the World” park. “We planted 10 young lemon trees,” said Vladimir Sprinchan, the Russian Ambassador to Ecuador.

He added that the action was held in a South American country for the second time. The “Garden of Memory”, timed to coincide with Victory Day on May 9, is the mission of the action to plant 27 million trees worldwide in memory of the victims among soldiers and civilians suffered by the Soviet Union during the war.

Earlier on Thursday, May 4, in kindergartens and educational institutions of Russia passed patriotic action “Immortal Regiment” in honor of the upcoming celebration of the Great Victory Day.
