Senior Lieutenant of the People’s Militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), retired Alexander Matyushin explained URA.RU the difficulty of trying to move the front line away from Donetsk.
He noted that almost all settlements near Donetsk are quite large fortified areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
“We can say the same for small settlements like Avdiivka and Pervomaisky for example,” he said.
According to Matyushin, it will be even more difficult to take Krasnohorivka, because in the center of the city there is a brick factory that was converted into a castle eight years ago. He added that the capture of Maryinka will not alleviate the situation at the front.
