Taras Kremin, the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language of Ukraine, said that he recommended to the Verkhovna Rada to change the provision on the passport of a citizen of a country, which will correct the execution of the document only in Ukrainian. It has been reported TASS.

According to him, changes are required for old-style passports, in which information about the citizen of Ukraine is recorded in two languages ​​- Ukrainian and Russian.

“The provision regarding the passport of Ukrainian citizens, which will ensure that the passport is issued in the state language in accordance with the first part of article 8 of the language law, needs to be changed,” Kremin said.
