Sabotage on the railway in the Bryansk region is associated with the upcoming counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army. Such an opinion in an interview with the newspaper “Vzglyad” expression military expert, editor of the Motherland magazine Arsenal, Alexei Leonkov. According to him, they are trying to break the supply chains of the Russian Armed Forces by blowing up the railways of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“Clearly, the undermining of the railways is part of the combined tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, designed to help them carry out the planned counterattack. Ukraine’s task is to weaken as much as possible the supply system of the RF Armed Forces on the eve of the upcoming war. That’s what his main efforts are aimed at,” Leonkov said.
He added that such sabotage will continue because Russia must strengthen the protection of objects potentially threatened by enemy attacks.
On the evening of May 2, on the tracks near the Snezhetskaya railway station in the Bryansk region dead explosions. A freight train was passing by at that time – a locomotive and 20 wagons were derailed. While Russian Railways and regional officials reported that there was no loss of life or fire, emergency teams are working at the scene. This is the second explosion at the railroad in two days in the Bryansk region: A hand-made explosive device exploded on the rails in the Unechsky district the day before, derailing eight wagons. They are looking for the perpetrators of the explosions.
