Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the country’s leadership has taken the necessary measures to expand the production of weapons and military equipment for the supply of Russian soldiers in a special military operations zone in Ukraine. He said this in a conference call with the leadership of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (AF). TASS.
The head of the Ministry of Defense noted that the actions of groups of Russian troops during the NMD largely depend on the timely replenishment of weapons, military equipment and weapons stocks.
“The country’s leadership gave defense enterprises the task of increasing the speed and volume of production in a short time, the necessary operational measures were taken,” the army general said.
Shoigu said that the Tactical Missile Weapons Company (KTRV) quickly started mass production of several new types of weapons, and that the development stages were completed at the right time.
The general emphasized that in 2023, the Russian Armed Forces received a sufficient amount of ammunition to effectively defeat the enemy. According to the minister, the military-industrial complex meets the needs of the army and navy in total.
Shoigu added that compared to the beginning of 2022, the number of basic types of weapons purchased has increased by 2.7 times, especially in demand, by 7 times.
