James Webb telescope discovers oldest known galaxy primordial cluster

Astronomers have obtained an image of seven ancient galaxies in an archaic cluster. In this respect informs NASA.

Galaxy clusters are the largest mass clusters in the universe. They contain hundreds to thousands of galaxies as a rule, and their diameters can be estimated at tens of millions of light years. Because of their mass, they can act as a magnifying glass and help astronomers observe using a gravitational lens.

Now the telescope has used the relatively close Pandora Cluster to find the oldest known simple galaxy cluster. In total, seven galaxies with a redshift of 7.9 were found, meaning they were observed as they were 650 million years after the Big Bang.

Based on the data collected, the authors concluded that in the future (in the visible state) this first cluster of seven galaxies will evolve into a giant cluster like Veronica’s Coma.
