Rescue ship arrives to assist dry cargo ship KC Hadong off Sakhalin

The Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Maritime Rescue Coordination Center reported that the Bering Strait rescue ship belonging to the Sakhalin branch of the Marine Rescue Service reached the foreign cargo ship KC Hadong, which ran aground near the Sakhalin port of Shakhtersk on Monday, 24 April. “The rescue ship arrived at the scene early Monday morning. A dive inspection is scheduled for damage to the KS Hadong hull, weather permitting,” the rescue center said.

The crew of the rescued vessel consists of 20 South Korean and Philippine nationals. It was stated that there were no fuel leaks. At the same time, the investigating authorities conduct a pre-investigation check in accordance with Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
