New series premiere every week, other well-known and loved ones return, and the schedule can easily become impossible. In this section, we make five recommendations from which in principle it is impossible to go wrong.
1. ‘Miss. Davis (HBO Max, Tuesday)
Damon Lindeloff (‘Lost’, ‘Leftovers’, ‘Watchman’) created with Tara Hernandez (‘Big Bang’ screenwriter) this seems like it’s more than just a flippant of irreverent genres and tones around a nun (betty gilpin) dealing with an artificial intelligence. That’s right, the series comes at the right time, in the middle of a debate on the ethical issues of artificial intelligence. Like many of us, Lindelof and Hernandez wonder: What if they took over the world and didn’t have good intentions?
2. “Left-handed son” (Movistar Plus+, Thursday)
After contributing as a screenwriter to almost all of Alberto Rodríguez’s filmography (and winning Goyas for his work in ‘La isla mínima’ and ‘El hombre de las mil caras’), Raphael Kobos He takes on greater responsibilities (creative director, screenwriter and director) than ever before in this exciting adaptation of a novel by Rosario Izquierdo, which recently won the best short series award at the Canneseries. María León is Lola, a mother who confronts her son’s neo-Nazi orientation as she tries to find her inner balance.
3. “The Nurse” (Netflix, Thursday)
The Danish production company behind “The Hartung Case” and “Borgen: Kingdom, Power and Glory” proposes a “thriller” about the real murderous nurse who ravages the Nykøbing Falster hospital. New to the center, nurse Pernille Kurzmann (Fanny Louise Bernth) begins to suspect that her charismatic and charming partner, Christina Aistrup Hansen (Josephine Park), is not a saint. She is not the only one to hold this view, but she is the first to act on this thought and seek justice.
4. “Love and death” (HBO Max, Thursday)
Is it a ‘spoiler’ to remember a true crime that happened more than forty years ago? Or can you mention the name of another series about this case that was published last year? While we’re thinking about it, we’ll talk about ‘Love & Death’ as a tale of deception and murder in a suburb of Wylie, Texas, where religious people suppress their desires. ‘hitmaker’ david e kelley (“Big Little Lians”) leads a project with two great actors, Elizabeth Olsen and Jesse Plemons, at the center of its cast.
5. “Fortress” (Prime Video, Friday)
After directing some of the biggest hits in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the brothers Joe and Anthony Russo they seem less focused on superheroes now than on James Bond-style super agents. After “Invisible Agent” from Netflix, they’re proposing the ambitious (and very expensive) series “Citadel” from Prime Video, the first link in a universe that will now have replicas in India and Italy. Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas are two elite agents of the world espionage agency.
