In times of uncertainty that comes with burnout, there are a few things you can do to help yourself. For example, take just a few hours a day for yourself and change the situation. Ilyana Levina, founder of Skillbox specialist Levina Smart Team, told socialbites.ca about this.
According to the expert, often in such periods people try to seize every opportunity, drown in chaos and run out.
“Instead, it’s worth stopping and clearly defining which direction you need to go and what you want to go. A little thought exercise will help with this. Imagine meeting yourself exactly one year later on the same day. Feel this moment. Fast forward a year and answer a few questions: what are you doing at work, how is your emotional state, what kind of people are around you, what kind of physical condition are you in? Write down the things you absolutely do not want to feel and do in a year,” Levin suggested.
This simple exercise will help you understand what to focus on and find your direction. Satisfaction and joy with life will also help you organize your day properly.
“You can find that balance by incorporating healthy habits into your daily routine. For example, set aside 1-2 hours for yourself every morning, walk in the fresh air, take two full days off each week, try something new, change the environment,” the expert advised.
If you’ve lost your direction and can’t find an area to improve, Levina recommends acting consistently.
“Write down everything you want to achieve in your life, both personally and professionally. Find what motivates you and makes you feel complete. Make a list of things you like and don’t like to do. Recognize your strengths and achievements to discover your true self. Too often people don’t realize how valuable their strengths are, thinking that “anyone can do it,” Coach said.
