CloudPayments analysts (the service is part of the Cloud group) learned how online demand changed in the first half of April compared to the first half of March in the category of train tickets, hotels, tour agencies and airline tickets. “socialbites.ca” got acquainted with the results of the study.
Among these categories, online demand increased the most in the train ticket category, with an increase of 93%. The number of transactions increased by 84% and the average check increased by 5% from 3,899 rubles to 4,086 rubles. At the same time, airline tickets began to be bought less: online turnover decreased by 2%, although the number of transactions increased by 7%. The average check also fell by 8% from 67,422 rubles to 62,024 rubles. The most popular domestic routes are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Mineralnye Vody, Sochi. From foreign countries – Istanbul, Antalya, Dubai, Yerevan.
In the Hotels category, online turnover increased by 73%, the number of transactions increased by 40% and the average check increased by 23% from 25,144 rubles to 31,040 rubles.
Demand for tour organizers also increased in April. The growth of online turnover in this category increased by 50%, the number of transactions – 41%, and the average check increased by 6% from 3,812 rubles to 4,054 rubles.
Analysts say that such an increase in online demand in the “tourist” categories is most likely due to the upcoming May holidays, when Russians often plan excursions and trips.
