Rospotrebnadzor said that the coverage of vaccination against measles in Russia exceeds 95% on average. It has been reported TASS with reference to the press service of the department.
This level of vaccination coverage eliminates the risks of the disease spreading as an epidemic, according to the press service.
Representatives of Rospotrebnadzor cited the insufficient level of vaccination in some regions as the reason for the aggravation of the situation with measles.
“As of April 20, measles foci have been localized in the regions with the most difficult epidemiological situation (Novosibirsk region, Republic of Dagestan, Samara region),” the ministry said.
It is stated that the measles virus is genetically stable and its mutations are insignificant.
Previously in Rospotrebnadzor saidThat the increase in the incidence of measles in Russia since the end of 2022 is associated with the traditional cyclical period.
The epidemic process includes people who come to Russia from neighboring countries, as well as unvaccinated citizens.
