The Department of Economic Development of the Kurgan region announced on the social network “in contact”that the region will ban the retail sale of alcohol on 1 and 9 May 2023.
According to the report, the adoption of this measure is connected with the decision of the commission for the prevention and elimination of emergencies and ensuring fire safety.
It was noted that the ban does not apply to the retail sale of alcohol in the “providing of catering services”.
Previously, the Committee on Budget and Financial Markets of the Federation Council given an instruction to the government to draft a law allowing regions to impose additional restrictions on the operation of wineries. It was emphasized that small cafes in residential areas easily circumvented the night ban on the sale of alcoholic beverages, which poses an additional threat to public order.
