According to the publication, a year ago the husband of a resident of Ufa died. Six months later, an unknown man who introduced himself as Alex John signed up for a dating site where he met a woman. According to the man, he is an American soldier who signed a six-year contract with the UN and is currently working in Somalia. Six months later, the man came to Russia and said that he wanted to terminate the contract. To do this, he needed money to pay taxes on living in Somalia, a ticket to the Russian Federation, a visa, as well as buying a phone and computer stolen by the Somalis.

The woman sold the car and took out a bank loan to help her lover. From December 2022 to February 2023, he transferred 665 thousand rubles to the guy, and the money went to Russian accounts. The “Army” convinced a resident of Ufa that this is the data of the UN representatives in Russia.

When the woman ran out of money, he realized that he had been cheated. The victim later filed a complaint with the police.

It is noted that bank employees encouraged a resident of Ufa not to transfer money, told him about scammers, but still sent the entire amount.
