Figital sports is a unique combination of major sports disciplines with the most popular video games and technological devices. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko during a working visit to Kalmykia, the press service of the Vice-President reported.
“This combination of technology and physical labor allows a person to develop harmoniously, to surpass himself, to set new ambitious goals. “Games of the Future”, the world’s first international tournament, meets the demand of the time, which undoubtedly arouses great interest among young people.”
He, together with the head of the region Batu Khasikov, welcomed the participants of the Uralan youth forum, where the results of the Future Games accelerator were presented. According to him, Kalmykia, like other regions, actively participated in the preparation of the games. The Deputy Prime Minister said that the 33rd regional federation of digital sports was launched, the selection of student projects in digital education was organized.
Chernyshenko also thanked the participants for creating creative and promising initiatives and urged the youth of the region to actively participate in the phygital movement.
“I hope you can gather your team and participate in the competition. You have a real chance to make history as the first winners of the tournament. “Today, all conditions are being created for the development of the republic,” he said.
It was recorded that 110 people participated in the accelerator. Among them are schoolchildren and students of the republic, as well as foreign students from the Congo, Ivory Coast, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Haiti, Kyrgyzstan and Cameroon. During the two-day program, the teams produced projects for the development of digital sports and education, as well as preparation for the international “Games of the Future” tournament.
After the presentation of the projects of the Republic was completed, a cooperation agreement was signed between the All-Russian Federation of Physical Sports and the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Kalmykia.
Recall that the tournament will be held in Kazan in 2024. In the competition where more than 2,000 athletes from different countries will take part, 16 disciplines will bring together classical sports with e-sports, VR and AR technologies.
