In Russia, the epidemiological situation of measles, which can cause serious complications in the human body, has worsened. For this reason, citizens need to have their immunity checked and, if necessary, vaccinated. About this doctor-immunologist, candidate of medical sciences Zoya Skorpileva said TV channel “360”.

The expert noted that measles is a highly contagious viral disease and infects 95 out of 100 people. Measles can cause meningoencephalitis, measles pneumonia, deafness, and other complications.

“Therefore, you need to check your immunity for one a little bit, for another a little later, the immunity disappears. 10 years later, one of them never decreases. Those who do not have sufficient immunity should be vaccinated,” the doctor said.

According to Skorpileva, children are vaccinated at the age of one, and then at the age of six. People over the age of 55 are not currently vaccinated because they have good antibody titers. She added that patients who cannot be vaccinated are most susceptible to the disease.

Anna Popova, former head of Rospotrebnadzor statedThe epidemiological situation regarding measles in Russia is becoming more complex. According to him, cases of measles were recorded in 44 regions of the country.
