A resident of the Smolensk region reported to the police that a car was stolen after his car was confiscated. Earlier, he drove her in a drunken state, reports “MK”.
A man born in 1972, living in Kardymov, contacted law enforcement and reported that his car was stolen. According to the applicant, an unidentified person allegedly entered his movable property illegally and hid from the victim’s home.
The district police managed to prove that the person who reported the theft was lying. He checked the state traffic inspectorate’s records and found that the car was indeed evacuated to impound a vehicle, as investigators discouraged the Russian from drunk driving.
When the circumstances of the case improved, the man admitted that he had lied in this way, wanting to return the car to him and not paying the tariff because it was in a private parking lot.
The fined driver now becomes a defendant if a crime is falsely reported and can be sentenced to up to two years in prison.
