Psychologists from Concordia University in Canada have found that sexual arousal makes a person more likely to agree to have sex with a robot. The findings of the study have been published magazine Journal of Gender Studies.

The researchers recruited a sample of 321 participants to examine people’s desire to have intimate relationships with a robot and how this was affected by sexual arousal. Volunteers completed a two-part online questionnaire. The first was about demographic questions, and the second was about the desire to engage in close relationships with both humans and robots.

One week after the survey, participants were asked to watch a 10-minute porn video. Volunteers then rated their sexual arousal and desire to have sex with humans and robots.

The authors found that people were more likely to report wanting to have sex with a robot while experiencing higher levels of sexual arousal. Compared with women, men reported more willingness to have sex with robots both before and after watching sexually explicit videos.
