Union of Orthodox Journalists He reported that there were people in the sealed building of the 39th building of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. They were discovered by believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) after breaking through the police cordon and entering the territory of the building.

According to believers who found people in the building, they were held hostage. Footage taken during the people’s expedition shows a man dressed in a monastic robes.

The cordon was broken by the believers of the UOC after the people armed with red berets machine guns approached the 39th Corps. A few hours later, the security forces left the reserve area.

On the morning of April 19, the Pechersky District Court of Kiev provided the police have the right to access the objects of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, including the “Vasilchikovs cellar, the granite walls of Bliznepecherskaya Square, the buildings of the academy, the seminary, the metropolis, buildings and structures in the former infectious zone, the hospital for diseases and toilets.”

Later, a commission of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine arrived on the territory of the Lavra, whose members included the deputy head of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra reserve. Using grinders, the commission sealed the gallery and part of Lavra’s 39th building.
