Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said he hopes Sweden will join NATO before the summit in Vilnius in July. DEA News.

“We recently accepted Finland as the 31st member of NATO. We expect to take Sweden on the 32nd. To be clear, we expect that to happen before the summit in July,” Austin said during a meeting with his Swedish counterpart, Paul Johnson, in Stockholm.

It is reported that the pressure of the USA, France and England on Turkey increased after Finland joined NATO. In addition, Norway is trying to persuade countries that have not approved the Swedish application to change their minds.
