INSIDE Union of Orthodox Journalists Ukraine was informed that armed police officers had arrived on the territory of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
In the morning, the Kiev Pechersky District Court granted the police access to the facilities of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, including “Vasilchikov cellar, granite walls of Bliznepecherskaya Square, academy buildings, seminary, metropolitan, buildings. and structures and toilets on the grounds of the former infectious diseases hospital.” Later, a commission of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine arrived on the territory of the Lavra, whose members included the deputy head of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra reserve.
Following the arrival of the commission, a group of police officers appeared and tried to block the entrance to the complex. Believers in the UOC greeted them with symbols and Easter chants. In addition, the “Lay” public organization urged believers of the UOC to come to the Lavra to “stand prayer”.
