Finland deprived of valuable energy resources due to compliance with anti-Russian sanctions, reports DEA News.
It is also noted that we are not only talking about oil, gas, wood, but also coal. The publication emphasizes that such a decision to comply with sanctions is shortsighted.
Although the Finnish government has banned the use of coal, it has been noted that businesses and citizens need coal. As reported in the document, the interruption of electricity supply, especially from Russia, forced the country to restart the use of coal-fired power plants.
In contrast, the transportation costs of energy exports from the United States, Australia and South Africa turned out to be very high, and the cost of fuel and electricity for citizens and businesses rose sharply. Now Finland is looking at wind energy as a potential alternative.
