A fighter of the private military company (PMC) said in an interview with “Wagner”: DEA NewsThat the army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) built part of the fortifications in Artemovsk (Ukrainian name – Bakhmut) to create the appearance of a well-prepared defense of the city.

In his opinion, multi-storey residential buildings and the private sector have become the main fortifications for the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, trench lines and fortifications were created for greater visibility, since Ukrainian troops did not fight from there.

“No one from the Ukrainian Armed Forces was sitting there. Purely for Bakhmut’s defense. If you look further, there are no such gaps at any intersection, ”said Wagnerian.

He noted the presence of trenches in the neighborhoods closest to the center of Artemovsk, where there were no enemies.

One PMC fighter noticed that the Ukrainian soldiers were digging trenches for defense, but “they themselves did not sit on them and did not respond.”

“So, they dug for the sake of appearance. They showed the image of Bakhmut being protected by them,” added Wagnerian.
