Scientists at Inter Scientific, a company specializing in medical and other research, have discovered that nicotine-free electronic cigarettes used to combat addiction actually contain the same levels of addictive substances as their nicotine equivalents. The results of the research were published on the website. Inter Scientific.

Earlier, the UK government announced plans to introduce the possibility of replacing cigarettes with nicotine-free electronic cigarettes to reduce smokers. According to current regulations, the capacity of vape cups should not be more than 2ml and the nicotine concentration should not be more than 20mg/ml. Otherwise, the device will be considered illegal.

However, the study showed that switching to e-cigarettes won’t help – they’re also addictive. Laboratory analysis of 52 products purchased in the UK showed that 73% of them exceeded the allowable capacity. More than 40% of these are calculated for 5 ml or more of liquid. Only eight devices contained 20 mg/ml of nicotine. The rest exceeded this indicator, and the permissible level on one device was exceeded by more than 50%.

Numerous studies by scientists have shown that the use of electronic cigarettes leads to irritation of the mucous membranes of the eyes and respiratory tract, the development of bronchial asthma, cancer and allergies. In addition, due to the presence of sugar in its composition, vaping negatively affects dental health. And earlier scientists establishedthat menthol vape liquids are more dangerous than others.
