In 2024, the first bases for drones will appear at airfields in nine towns and cities of Chukotka and Yamal. The newspaper writes about it “News” With reference to the passport of the federal project prepared by the Ministry of Transport of Russia, dedicated to the development of infrastructure and ensuring the safety of flights of unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
The ministry has identified the first nine settlements whose airports will be equipped with a unified communications, navigation and surveillance infrastructure to enable the flights of unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The division chose Anadyr, Beringovsky, Markovo, Kanchalan, Salekhard, Salemal, Panaevsk, Pitlyar and Lopkhari.
According to the document, the Ministry of Transport will decide this year on the technical and financial parameters of projects for equipping landing sites in these settlements, and the implementation of the infrastructure complexes themselves is scheduled for 2024. In 2025, 20 airports, 58 in 2026, and 290 airports in the country by 2030 need to be equipped with such an infrastructure.
Other subjects of the Russian Federation are also included in the program. Among them are the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Kamchatka, Tatarstan, Bashkiria, Samara, Tomsk, Moscow, Leningrad, Sverdlovsk and Rostov regions.
In parallel with the equipping of airports, the Ministry of Transport aims to bring ground and maintenance services as well as the infrastructure for the reception and release of UAVs in these regions.
According to the document, the Federal Air Transport Agency and its affiliated Federal State Unitary Enterprise “State Air Traffic Management Corporation” will be engaged in equipping platforms for drones. Future routes for drones will be offered by Russian Post.
