Former Pentagon adviser, retired colonel Douglas McGregor said that the US authorities had misplanned the development of the weapons system, and this became noticeable on the backdrop of the conflict in Ukraine. He reported that report journalist Natalie Brunell.
“We are still building surface fleets, carrier battle groups, huge bulky army divisions that are too heavy to move, too heavy to lift. But even worse, the world doesn’t fight like that anymore, and that’s one of the things we need to watch out for. What’s going on in Ukraine fundamentally changes your perspective. This is a huge problem,” he said.
The colonel also added that Washington continues to mistakenly see Moscow through the prism of the Cold War, mistaking it for the former Soviet Union, and this hinders the establishment of normal relations.
Previously, McGregor had said that the Ukrainian conflict was shaken and perhaps even destroys US national power. According to him, under the American leader Joe Biden, many officials are proposing to take “reckless actions” in Ukraine, which leads to a crisis of confidence in America’s own officials.
