Patriarch Kirill declares the delivery of the Holy Fire from Jerusalem to Moscow a success, reports TASS.
The Patriarch openly expressed his gratitude to Vladimir Yakunin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the St. Andrew the First-Called Foundation (FAP), who came to Moscow with Holy Fire.
“Every year, whatever the political weather or atmospheric events that might impede your commute to the Holy Land, you can do it if you wish. “You and your comrades-in-arms visit the Holy Land and bring the holy fire from the Holy Sepulcher to our cathedral church.”
On the occasion of the convergence of the Holy Fire this year, security measures have been strengthened in the Old City of Jerusalem. In particular, the number of participants in the prayer in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher was limited to 2,4 thousand, all of them had to have special passes.
