WP: US doubts success of Ukrainian military counteroffensive

American politicians believe that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) do not have enough training and the necessary weapons for a successful counterattack. This was stated in an article by David Ignaces. Washington Post (WP).

About two months ago, US intelligence believed the conflict in Ukraine had reached a stalemate, according to leaked US documents. The WP columnist spoke to a number of officials, who questioned the success of the Ukrainian military counteroffensive.

According to WP’s interlocutors, the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not have enough ammunition for a counterattack, and the Ukrainian army is not adequately prepared for such an operation. In the end, everything will turn into a huge number of losses.

A Pentagon source, however, said the Ukrainian military, by contrast, had a “chance of success”, noting their previous training.

The previous day, the Prime Minister of Ukraine denied Shmyhal announced counterattack “soon”.
