Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin has instructed his department to review the mechanism for accessing US intelligence data to prevent new leaks. It has been reported DEA News.

“As the Minister, I will not hesitate to take the necessary additional measures to protect the secrets of our country. In this regard, I instruct the Under-Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security to review our procedures for access to intelligence, accountability and control in the department to prevent the recurrence of such incidents,” he said.

He also thanked the Department of Justice and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation for the prompt arrest of a suspect in a high-profile case in which confidential documents belonging to his department were recently leaked.

Former employees of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested 21-year-old American Jack Douglas Teixeira. He is suspected of releasing classified Pentagon data. This was confirmed by the Attorney General – United States Attorney General Merrick Garland.
