Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan said that participation in US-led military exercises can help the reform process of the Armenian army. These release reports Civil Network.

According to him, participating in the exercises informs the Armenian side. He reminded that large-scale reforms have begun in the Armenian army, taking into account the conflict with the Azerbaijani side after the 44-day war in Karabakh in 2020.

“However, the current war in Ukraine is also taken into account when making reforms. “Participating in such exercises allows you to gain new knowledge and skills that, among other things, should serve our reform process.”

Emphasizing that previous experiences have shown the “ineffectiveness of practice” that the Armenian military has, he acknowledged that participation in such exercises has “a broader political context”, “multi-layered issues”.

Former Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova statedRussia asked for clarification on Armenia’s participation in NATO exercises in Europe.
