It was July 1995 and it was an anonymous call. Anabel Segura The young woman from Madrid – who at the time had been kidnapped for over two years – was found in a barracks between Avilés and Gijón and launched one of the largest police operations in the region.
About three hundred agents from the National Police Service and the Civil Guard joined in to check roads, search car bodies and verify the identities of the driver and passengers. Large areas of the councils of Avilés, Gozón, Carreño and Corvera were recorded. It all started with an anonymous call from a woman who said she was calling from Madrid and who claimed that Anabel was being held captive in a barracks guarded by two men and a woman near the sea between Avilés and Gijón.
The search for Asturias was halted days later, and unfortunately it later turned out that all was not working, as the young woman died shortly after she was abducted while running in La Moraleja in 1993. It was April 12, and that’s exactly what’s happening now.
Segura was 19 years old and was kidnapped by some “incompetent” criminals who were caught with the word “bolo” thanks to a new police voice analysis technology that was the most advanced at the time.
The Spaniards believed that the kidnapping of the girl took two years and five months, the longest in history, longer than that of the Olot pharmacist. But it is not. Anabel Segura was abducted for only four hours because her captors did not know what to do with her, did not plan their actions well, and immediately ended her life. But all this became known after the mobilization of the Spaniards like never before. Citizen platforms were created in a movement identified with the yellow ribbon worn by thousands of people.
Searched all over Spain based on clues from the abduction scene. A gardener from the Scandinavian school near the scene heard the screams of the young woman and saw the vehicle and the two men. Emilio Munoz And candido ortizit was later learned that the wife of the first helped, felisa garcia. They asked for money and came to ask the family for 150 million old pesetas, even trying to pay the ransom twice. But it was useless because Anabel was dead. In September 1995 the Police arrested them. The three of them broke down and confessed to their crimes and the whereabouts of the body.
