Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov checked the progress in improving the area near the First Lake, and the press service of the regional administration met with the residents of Star City.

“We have completed the first part of the study. We’re here to report back to you to find out what other wishes you have. We have a major beautification program, very strongly supported by our president, who also helps us transform small historic cities. Every year we win the All-Russian competition. And that’s very nice,” said Vorobyov.

The total area of ​​the land to be settled this year is 0.7 hectares. During the improvement, First Lake will be cleaned, a floating fountain, green areas, locker rooms, parking lot will be visible here, the hockey rink will be equipped, lighting and security cameras will be installed.

Large-scale landscaping in Star City began in 2017. During this time, they also arranged the square near Cosmonauts’ Street – they equipped children’s playgrounds and set up benches. Also, at the request of young residents, who appealed to the governor, a skate park appeared near the House of Cosmonauts.

Also in 2020, the embankment of Lake Leonezhsky was organized in the region. The project became the winner of the All-Russian competition for the improvement of small towns and historical settlements. Barbecue areas were built on the territory, playgrounds, shady canopies were equipped, a path for cyclists and pedestrians was laid, plants were decorated, lighting and security cameras were installed, an approach to the water and fishing places were provided, and a wide ramp was equipped for walking mothers with a stroller and citizens with disabilities. .
