Rostec State Corporation has started the production of Amulet body armor, which can withstand direct hits of B-32 armor-piercing shells at the Oktava plant in Tula. It has been reported TASS Pavel Pavlenko, Managing Director of the enterprise.

“In six months, we went from a completely raw product – a lot of test shots, consultations with special services and only SVO members – to a finished product with certificates,” Pavlenko said.

According to him, a trial group of vests was sent to the special operations zone.

The vest includes a breastplate made of ceramic plates that absorb the kinetic energy of the bullet and a high molecular plastic that provides Br5 protection class. When tested, the plate withstood three shots with a B-32 armor-piercing projectile from a sniper rifle at a distance of ten meters, and two with less powerful ammunition.

The bulletproof vest weighs 9.1 kg and is equipped with additional protection for the shoulders, neck and groin, as well as a handle for carrying the wounded. Up to 1,000 body armors can be produced per month.

Formerly Rostec reportedArena-M protection will be installed on T-90 and T-80 tanks.
