CloudPayments analysts discovered how online turnover, number of transactions, and average checks in the “summer” categories of goods changed online in anticipation of the start of the summer season: gardening supplies, building materials, household goods, furniture and household goods.
“socialbites.ca” got acquainted with the results of the study.
The leader in terms of average invoice growth last year is the category of building materials: it increased by 31% from 39,833 rubles to 52,074 rubles. At the same time, online turnover in this category increased by only 1%, while the number of transactions decreased by 23%. This may indicate that due to the increase in the prices of building materials last year, the Russians are less likely to purchase them, therefore they suspend the construction and improvement of plots and houses.
In the garden supplies, furniture and household goods category, average bills dropped significantly. The average value of the purchase price of goods for the house during the year decreased by 52%, from 9,518 rubles to 4,541 rubles. At the same time, online turnover decreased by 22% and the number of transactions increased by 64%.
In the furniture and household goods category, the average bill decreased by 27% from 25,804 rubles to 18,829 rubles. While online turnover decreased by 21%, the number of transactions increased by 9%.
In the garden supplies category, the average check decreased by 10% from 2,646 rubles to 2,377 rubles, while online turnover increased by 8% and the number of transactions by 20%.
Such a decline in average checks and online turnover may indicate that this year Russians are spending less on improving suburban areas and homes than in the past: a year ago, Russians were actively buying seeds and gardening supplies before the summer season began. .
The study was conducted by CloudPayments analysts (the service is part of the Bulut group) according to transactions in the categories of garden materials, building materials, furniture and household goods, household goods for the period 6 March – 9 April 2023. same period last year.
