The driver of the car that crashed in Xove (Lugo) on April 1, the other four teenagers died -17-19 years old-, tested positive for alcohol consumption, after the Viveiro Court, which handled the case, allowed analysis of the blood drawn.
The 19-year-old man, who was seriously injured in the accident, is still being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Lucus Augusti University Hospital (HULA).
As a matter of fact, toxicological tests, the results of which are pending, were carried out by the Civil Guard Traffic inspectors who were interested in the incident, with blood samples taken from him at the hospital.
For this, the relevant permission was requested from the 2nd Investigation Court of Viveiro, who took over the case as the sentry.
The driver of the vehicle and another young person with minor injuries survived the accident. The tragic accident that shocked the A Mariña region, and in particular the municipality of Ribadeo, from which the dead and two injured came.
As for the other survivor, investigative sources confirmed that he was being investigated for negligence in his duty to assist EFE as he was not present at the scene of the accident.
