The investigation revealed that in 2020, after the goods were released, an acquaintance who defended the interests of a fur company contacted the head of the customs control service, Sergey Tsukanov. The man said that Tsukanov’s subordinates allegedly confiscated goods from the company without giving any reason.
Then Tsukanov promised to return the goods in exchange for a bribe. Law enforcement officers detained him, while receiving 500 thousand rubles.
The court sentenced the customs officer to five years in prison. Tsukanov will serve his sentence in a strict regime colony.
