Mieres Local Police neutralized a drug trade last Friday where one of the two people involved was on a date with their three minor children, all of whom were underage. The show took place in Ablaña, where there is a well-known black spot for drug dealing. JFC, 55, a resident of the town, and BGI, 36, of Oviedo, were arrested. The latter went to Mieres with her three children aged 11 to 15. Although it was initially unclear which of the two detainees was selling the drugs, after her testimony in court, Ablaña’s neighbor was jailed and the children’s father was released. The police action occurred shortly before half past seven in the evening. The police intervention came about as a result of a traffic violation.

Two people involved in the incident were arrested for allegedly dealing with drugs and were referred to the courthouse. After reading their entitlements, they were transferred to the Civil Guard offices in Mieres, where appropriate procedures were carried out. 72 grams of heroin and 1.5 grams of cocaine were seized in the operation. In the case of heroin, and always according to investigative spokesmen, it was a much larger amount than usual in such operations.
Following the arrest of those involved, the Local Police located their mother, who was caring for the underage children. After obtaining the appropriate parental consent, they were taken home by taxi.
