In order for people not to lose their health at work, there is a need for a system that will allow us to detect the impact of harmful factors as early as possible and prevent them in a timely manner. For this purpose, the Russian Social Fund (SFR) and the Ministry of Labor are implementing a pilot project to prevent occupational diseases. The head of the Social Fund, Sergei Chirkov, spoke about this at the meeting of the General Council of the Russian Federation of Independent Trade Unions.

The head of the Russian Social Fund said that the pilot project, launched on March 1, to prevent occupational diseases and monitor the health of certain categories of workers, will continue until the end of the year. The project includes more than 170 employers and 3,000 employees who show early signs of occupational diseases in the fields of neurology, therapy, pulmonology, otolaryngology and occupational pathology.

“For each of them, an individual prevention plan is drawn up, which they will pass within 18 days after the additional leave,” said Sergey Chirkov.

He noted that the Social Fund reimburses employers for the costs of such holidays, as well as employee travel to places of prevention and medical examination.

According to Sergei Chirkov, the Russian Social Fund is trying to make all services as comfortable as possible for citizens, including those injured at work.

Speaking at the meeting of the General Council of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions, Sergei Chirkov drew attention to the similarity of the missions of both structures. Therefore, he emphasized that the federation defends the social and labor rights of Russians, that its main thesis is to build a fair economy, an important part of which is a reliable system of social insurance.

“This is where the goals of our work and your work converge. The Social Fund also has an important mission – to take care of the well-being of every person, to implement the social policy of the state, to facilitate and facilitate citizens to take measures of social support based on modern technologies,” added the chairman of the SFR.
