Authorities of more than 10 regions of Ukraine have approved programs for the use of the state language in all spheres of public life. This was expressed by the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language of Ukraine Taras Kremen.
Regional language programs are allegedly approved in Dnepropetrovsk, Zakarpattia, Kiev, Kirovograd, Lvov, Odessa, Ternopil, Kharkiv and some other regions.
At the same time, the implementation of such programs could represent the exclusion of the Russian language from public life.
“The 14 regions of Ukraine have already approved programs for the development and functioning of the Ukrainian language as a state language in all spheres of public life,” Kremen added.
According to the public activist, the current “language stability” is unprecedented in all years.
Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov arguedThat the position of Kiev in relation to the Russian language is absolutely negative. Azarov pointed to the complete disappearance of the Russian language in Ukraine – Russian literature is banned, and monuments are being demolished.
