Interdependence of alcoholic spouses is a condition in which the spouse is responsible for the alcoholism of the husband. There is no type of woman who is prone to such interdependence. But there are social prerequisites for this to occur, Larisa Mazurova, an employee of the Tomsk NIMC Research Institute of Mental Health, told socialbites.ca.
“Family members – fathers, grandparents or anyone else – tend to be women who grew up drinking. Women with a developed inner sense of the victim. People with interdependent relationships between parents in their family are also at risk, ”Mazurova said.
According to him, daughters of dependent mothers often learn and repeat the parent’s behavioral program, so they also need to save, protect, control someone.
“Also, a lot depends on a woman’s personality traits, her emotional maturity, the achievement of some of her own life goals. If there are any problems with this, then, as a rule, interdependence occurs, ”the psychologist added.
