In 2023, one in five Russian companies returns to office format

Services SberPodbor and Rabota.ru conducted a study and revealed how the number of remote workers in Russian companies has changed this year. socialbites.ca got acquainted with the results of the survey.

Thus, in the first quarter of 2023, almost one out of every five companies (19%) returned completely to office work mode. 15% of employers said that the number of employees in their organization has decreased. Interestingly, exactly the same number (15%) noted that more employees started working remotely.

25% stated that the number of remote workers remained the same. 26% of organizations did not have remote or hybrid mode.

38% of telecommuting companies plan to switch to flexible working hours, partly from home and partly in the office. 35% does not change the way it works. However, 27% of respondents said their company plans to switch to a purely office way of working.

Among the advantages of the remote format is the ability to recruit employees from other regions, as every second job representative noted. 44% of survey respondents said working remotely is comfortable for employees and managers. 33% point to the opportunity to save on office care. Another 6% stated that the productivity of remote workers is higher than in the office. In the “Other” option, respondents also stated that working remotely is a serious competitive advantage and some companies do not consider it necessary to work in the office.

The majority (58%) of companies that have office work or plan to return to the office state that employees work more productively from the office. In 42% of organizations, the nature of the work is not suitable for the teleworking format. 32% of respondents agreed that not all managers know how to work with remote teams.
