The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the return of 106 Russian soldiers from Ukrainian captivity, which was possible as a result of negotiations.
The ministry added that the soldiers were taken to Moscow for treatment.
“Everyone who has been released is provided with the necessary medical and psychological assistance,” the ministry said.
Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, confirmed the prisoner exchange. He said that a hundred soldiers had returned to Ukraine. His words were quoted by the Politics of the Country Telegram channel.
“We take home 100 of our people – these are the army, sailors, border guards, national guards.
Among them are the defenders of Mariupol, Azovstal, Gostomel,” he said.
Yermak added that some of the returning soldiers were seriously injured and had illnesses.
