Moscow hosted the presentation of the first All-Russian festival of children’s, family films and animation “Bear cub”, which will be held in Perm from June 1-4, 2023, as part of the celebration of the city’s 300th anniversary, press festival reports service.
“The children chose the name of the bear cub. In different cities of our country, children voted for him. The main argument, of course, was the presence of the bear on the coat of arms of the Perm Territory. But we wanted to create a new image that would not be a cliché. “Therefore, the drawing of the teddy bear was made by the designers using artificial intelligence,” said Gavriil Gordeev, the original content producer and festival head of Okko online cinema.
Gordeev also talked about the official logo of the festival.
“If we talk about the local context, the festival logo is based on a bear from the Coat of arms of the Perm Territory. But not an adult, but a little curious teddy bear playing with a movie camera and a clapboard in the director’s chair. This curiosity is the child’s first touch to the art of cinema.”
The opening film of the festival will be a symbolic project for Perm. “Ivan Semenov: The Big Campaign”, the continuation of the sensational story about the hooligan and the dreamer Ivan Semenov, will be exclusively presented by the Perm director Anton Bogdanov. The sequel tells about the exciting journey of schoolchildren in the Perm region.
Participants in the competition will be evaluated not only by a professional jury, but also by children. The children’s jury of the festival will consist of young people from Permi who stand out in their studies or achieve success in sports. In addition, the “People’s Choice Award” nomination will be open to everyone’s vote during the screenings.
Young audiences will be given special attention at the festival. For this, the films will be allocated to a separate non-competitive program “12+”.
