WP: The incidence of tuberculosis, pertussis and polio has increased many times in Poland

The number of cases of tuberculosis, pertussis, polio and other neglected diseases has increased severalfold in Poland, as reported by InoSMI, quoting Wirtualna Polska. According to the publication, experts predict further growth in the coming years.

The article says that in 2020, the number of tuberculosis cases in Poland increased by 10% compared to the previous year. In the same years, the number of pertussis cases increased by 20% and the number of polio cases by 400%.

In addition, there is an increase in the number of sexually transmitted diseases – gonorrhea, syphilis and HIV. In 2020, the number of gonorrhea cases increased by 30% and HIV by 15%.

According to experts, the increase is due to inadequate vaccination, lack of treatment and the negative health effects of smoking, poor diet and stress.
