Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) Air Force (AF) Spokesperson Yuriy Ignat said that the Ukrainian air defense (air defense) has nothing to knock down a new type of bomb produced by Russia. Reported by “Strana.ua”.

According to him, we are talking about aerial bombs weighing one and a half tons. Ignat emphasized that recently the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, went to an enterprise where these munitions were produced. According to a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, the new bombs will be equipped with GPS navigation and wings.

“One-and-a-half-ton bombs are already three times more powerful,” Ignat stressed.

According to him, among ground systems such weapons can be countered by the Samp-t and Patriot systems. Also, F-16 aircraft “or other generation 4+” can fight such aircraft bombs.

Former Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force Mykola Oleshchuk listed Problems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which, in his opinion, only F-16 fighters can solve.
