Between April 4 and 7, North Korea tested the Haeil 2 strategic submarine system capable of carrying nuclear weapons. North Korean Central Telegraph Agency (CTAC).

According to the agency, the nuclear radio-controlled underwater attack vehicle, which participated in the test conducted on April 4 at Kajin port in Geum county of South Hamgyong province, swam into the sea during a 1,000-kilometer trajectory in 71 hours and 6 minutes. On April 7, the drone reached an area in front of Ryongdae Port, Tancheon City, South Hamgyong Province, and “the test warhead accurately detonated underwater.”

TsTAK noted that as a result of the test, the reliability of the strategic underwater weapon system and its ability to “deliver a fatal blow” were fully tested.

The agency added that this system is necessary to deter the enemy’s growing hostilities, eliminate the threat and protect North Korea.
